1. We sold our house and have to be out by 3/10
2. We bought a new house but don't close on that one until 3/18
3. I planned a surprise party for Johnny complete with out of town guests (6 of them to be exact)
4. I was sick and completely out of commission 2 weekends ago
5. We have 2 small children
6. We both have full time jobs
It's been C-R-A-Z-Y around here to say the least. In all honesty we just had Johnny's surprise birthday party this past weekend. I also had some of our college friends come out for the party as well. I had to tell him about them coming in finally last week becuase he and I were arguing about packing and painting and why I didn't think this weekend was a good weekend to do that. Little did he know we had 6friends coming in and 42 others that would be joining us for a party on Saturday night. Along with packing and stressing about our up-coming moves I was holding all of these secrets from him. It all worked out in the end becuase he was TOTALLY shocked! We had such a great time with everyone and a special thanks to all of our friends that traveled in from out of town.
The story to get him there was that the surprise party was for my best friend Nicole. He totally bought it becuase Nicole's actual birthday was on Friday so the story seemed ligit. The funny thing was he told me later that even when he walked in and everyone said "surprise" it still took him a minute to process. He was looking around the room trying to figure out how some of our friends knew Nicole, it didn't register that the party was for him and Nicole wasn't even there (she's out of town). Anyhow, I didn't even tell Nicoletta the truth until we were in the car on our way there becuase I knew she'd blow my cover! She was SO excited to yell surprise when John walked in.
Even Luca got into the party mode! Real nice you leave your baby with Grandma and Papa for 10 minutes and this is what I come back to find!!

The Birthday boy totally embarassed as we're singing Happy Birthday.

The Fam. I can't believe we didn't take a picture together until this point which was literally right before my Mom left with the kids for the night. Poor Luca was already in his jammies he had had it!

Friends...
Needless to say we were all pooped by the end of the weekend. We did manage to sneak in and pack a few boxes last night but, poor Luca was fussing and it took everything to keep him up until 7pm. I brought him up and he smelled like poop so I figured I'd feed him a little then stop and change his diaper and then finish. Well this is what he looked like 1/2 way through his feeding...
He literally passed out, I moved him from my lap to the floor, changed his diaper and attempted to finish feeding him and the poor kid never flinched let alone open his eyes. Poor baby!
It was a fun weekend. Thanks to everyone for coming and helping along the way with the surprise. And a special thanks to my Mom and John for taking the kids home and keeping them for the majority of the day on Sunday while we recovered :-)
