With Nicoletta's birthday coming up next month whenever she sees something she wants my response is always "maybe for your birthday". So while shopping with me and my Mom for someone else's birthday gift she see's a new scooter she wants. Of course my response is "maybe for your birthday". Now flash forward a few days and watch the masterminding of my 4 year old unfold...
SCENE: We're (Nicoletta, Luca and I) are riding their scooters around the neighborhood.
N: Mom I think I need a new scooter for my birthday because this one isn't good for me anymore.
ME: Okay honey, maybe with birthday money or maybe someone will buy it for you.
N: Okay Mom, I think Grandma should buy it for me, well because she was there with us so she knows the one with the hearts that I want.
ME: Alright honey we'll see, you have a pretty big list for Grandma already she can't buy you everything.
Now later that same day Grandma comes over to babysit. Apparently Nicoletta decided to tell Grandma that "mommy thinks you should buy me a new scooter for my birthday because the one I have isn't good anymore. She said you could get me the one with the hearts we saw at the store the other day!".
See smart right?! 4 and already trying to play us like fiddles!
