I looked at every park district I could for a 2 year old class and while they offer them they ONLY offer them during the day and during the week!! So what because I'm a working Mom I shouldn't be allowed to take my kid to a dance class? I think it's stupid and unfair and if I wasn't extremely pregnant I would go argue with someone at the park district and explain how I think it's unfair.
Anyhow, luckily Nicoletta's school has taken into consideration the fact that working parents are still good parents who care about getting their kids involved in extracurricular activities and they offer different classes for them to take (at an additional cost of course, seriously open a daycare if you're looking to make some dough!!) So we signed her up and she LOVES it! She'll even show you a few moves sometimes when we ask.
Once a month they offer a parent showcase for you to come watch. John and I met at the school and went to check it out. Now being that I've been a dancer and have seen first hand how insane trying to get a group of young kids to not only cooperate but perform on command when their parents are 5 feet away can be I was sure this was going to be a waste of time but a good excuse to see our little one during the middle of the day. Sure enough there were a few kids in her class that WOULD NOT do anything but cling to their parents side. Not our little one, she was right where she was supposed to be listening to her teacher and basically showing off!
We snapped a few pictures for your entertainment!
A crazy side story to this whole situation is, when I walked in and met the teacher I realized that back in the day when I was a young tike this teacher was MY TEACHER from my studio!! When I was her student I think she may have still been in college but needless to say it was crazy how things came around full circle and now she's teaching my daughter!! It's definitely a SMALL world!
