Nicoletta's First White Sox Game

Papa John has been wanting to take Nicoletta to a White Sox game for awhile now but I was always concerned about how she would react. Finally we agreed that we could try it this summer so Papa was SUPER excited and was nice enough to buy tickets for all of us, good seats too!! Of course Johnny realized that it was also the finals for the world cup so being the excellent wife that I am I agreed that he didn't have to go with us and could go watch the game instead. My brother was nice enough to step in and take the extra ticket and spend the day with us.

So the whole way down I'm trying to prep him for the fact that she might not be into it or sit still or last that long etc. etc. So off we go out of the car into the souvenir shop where all she kept talking about was how she wanted a "pink hat". I swear Papa would have bought her the whole store had my Mom and I not literally taken everything aside from a hat and a t-shirt out of his hands.

Anyhow, she had a GREAT time. She stayed in the seats the whole time aside from a few trips to the potty. Only problem we ran into was the fireworks. Everyone who's been there knows when the White Sox hit a home run they shoot off fireworks, of course my child HATES fireworks so the inning where they hit 4 in a row was super fun for us! She was seriously freaked out at first but by the end she'd just jump on someone's lap but that would be it. So back to the good parts, she was great ate a hot dog, popcorn, ice cream and lasted until our goal of the bottom of the 7th so she could sing take me out to the ball game. Poor thing was completely tuckered out when we finally got back to the car :-)

Showing off her loot after bleeding Papa dry at the souvenir shop! In all honesty we had to take stuff out of Papa's hands to contain/control him he would have bought her the whole store!

With Gama and Papa

Big girl all by herself.

Papa and Nicoletta

So the background story here is that for an occasion (can't remember which one) my Mom came up with the idea to buy Papa John a brick at the Sox Stadium since he's such a big fan. He actually knows EXACTLY where it is and was so proud to show it off to Nicoletta.

Hanging out with Gama watching the game up close!

Our whole goal was for her to make it to the bottom of the 7th so that she could sing take me out to the ballgame. She made it, no nap and all and was SO pumped to be able to sing take me out to the ballgame with a stadium full of people.

Walking back to the car completely messing up Mama's hair while hitchin' a ride! Of course she was so OVERTIRED that ONLY Mama could carry her it was ridiculous I wanted someone to carry me :-)

Posing with Uncle an Papa

The whole fam sweaty and exhausted!

Once we got in the car we all thought she would pass right out but she was pretty chatty...for about 5 minutes. Then she pulled her hat down over her face and was zonked!
